In my in-laws basement during a recent visit. I apologize for the poor photos.

Carbine, has stud but no ring. Someone drilled a hole in the buttstock, I assume for a makeshift sling.
It’s a bit rusty and neglected. 
Caliber 25-35.
No one in this family are ‘gun people’, so I’m confident this one has not made it to the survey.

Thanks… Yes, it is in rough condition. The s/n makes it a July 1917 production Model 1894.
