I have a model 57 that my grandfather bought new in Louisville, KY.

It is .22LR

It was all scratched up so it has been refinished, both wood and metal

Original Lyman peep site, but with replacement top screw and aperture

Has had a scope at one point since barrel is drilled and tapped…still has two scope attachments, but no scope

No sling, but has both sling attachments on the rifle

Original 5-shot magazine

Serial Number 7362

Didn’t take the gun apart to find the date…if anybody can tell from the serial number I am curious.

Michael,

Thanks for the info, I did not have that one in the survey.

Based on your serial number it is probably a 1927 rifle.  If you ever take it apart there will be a 2 digit date code on the underside of the barrel near the receiver which indicates when the barrel was made.  Yours will probably be 26 or 27.
