I am new to this site but inherited an old 1894 Winchester rifle 38-55 cal serial # 120400. Round barrel and full magazine. It has been hunted and has scratches and dings on stock but appears original and screws are not deformed. Action is tight and wood to metal fit looks good. I would guess condition is 50-60%. I am not into Winchester rifles and would like to sell it for a fair price. Could you provide a price range for it please? I am located in Canada near Maine border. Thanks. (I tried to attach photos but no luck.)

Jim,

I have no idea what it is worth in Canada. The issue you will have trying to sell it to a U.S. citizen is the added cost to import it into the United States. Per out Federal law, it is considered a “modern” firearm, and must by transferred through a licensed importer and FFL. The typical fee to import it (importer and FFL) will run close to $400, which would reduce the selling price by that same amount. Frankly, you would do much better (money in pocket after sale) to sell it in Canada.
