SN # 1110136 I’ve been lurking for a while. I think it’s Bert who keeps track of the numbers? Anyway I can email pics for anyone who wants to comment on originality/condition/etc. I’m going to go ahead and join, (I thought I already had but it’s asking for a password and I can’t remember any). Thanks!
Based on the serial number, it is a 1936 (mid-year) production “Transitional” Model 94 Carbine. Please send pictures to me at [email protected]

Welcome to the Forum. Transitionals are a little scarce. Which type do you have? Tell us more. Mine# 1100457 has the early carbine stock, ramp sight, 22-E rear sight marked with a 1927 patent date, and a cut in the mag. tube for an earlier SRC upper band. Winchester never threw parts away. My carbine remains in as new condition. Unfired, if you will. Again, welcome. Big Larry

Mine has definitely seen some use, scabbard wear on one side of the barrel and mag tube but not horrible, plenty of finish loss on the receiver but not horrible and no rust or pitting that I can see.. bore looks great with sharp rifling, should make a nice little shooter I can let my son have in a few years when he’s ready to move up from the Model 67 he got for his birthday this year. Wood (curved buttplate) is original and looks unmessed with, (to me). Ramp front sight, (missing hood and waiting for its replacement to arrive), and 22G rear sight, (missing elevator when I got it but already replaced).
I can take pics and email them and you’re free to post them up. Looks like a well-used, (and loved), 30 WCF carbine with a lot of life left in it. This is actually a Christmas present for myself, so as soon as that hood comes in it’s going in a case and getting wrapped up to go under the tree this year. I figured if my wife and kids are going to give me a present I might as well pick it since I’m paying for it anyway, hahaha!
Thanks for the warm welcome!
