I’ve been writing down serial numbers and descriptions of 1873’s for forty years. Where, when, special features, prices, mostly in Canada but also USA. Maybe you’re looking for that one number!

I would be looking for all of them. How do you have recorded? How many do you think you have?

Started with a ledger book allowing for 5000 serial range for each page. ie 1st page range from #1 to #5000, 2nd page from 5001 to 10000, and so on until end of production 720000. I’m guessing l have about 500 entries. The entries only serve a purpose if you’re looking for a certain serial number otherwise you have to know about the plugged saddle ring holes receivers that they used on rifles and look at that group of numbers in the second models, just as an example.    Harry

I’ve been chatting with Harry through the PM and found that many of the guns he has were already supplied to Jim Gordon’s survey
