Hi Bert,

Just came across this one on GB.  Is it in your survey?

Don

It is now.  I had it listed, but not as a Spruce Gun.

Thanks,

Bert

Glad to add another to the survey.  How many do you have now?

The U.S. Army purchased 1,800 Model 1894 SRCs in the year 1917 and shipped them to Vancouver, WA to equip the Soldiers that were assigned to help protect the Spruce tree logging operations that were taking place on the Pacific coasts of Oregon and Washington.  Spruce logs were needed to provide the lumber necessary to build the military airplanes used by in combat by the U.S. Army Air Corp.

This link has a batch of great photos – M1894 Winchester “Spruce” Guns? – FIREARMS – U.S. Militaria Forum (usmilitariaforum.com)
