TX Gun Nut,

I was killing time before the NYE festivities get underway and found this post of yours from 2 months ago.  Thanks so much for the effort and I am so sorry that I missed it.  SN 506508 was in the RIA auction this past June.  SN 117343 was on Gunbroker a while back.  I saw SN 356925 on another website a few years ago.  The other s are new guns!

Thanks so much

Michael

That rifle just sold out of RIA in June of this summer.  Does the bottom line of the tang stamp end in “& FGN”?  Is the barrel address on the top or left side of the barrel?   https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/1029/2021/winchester-model-1892-rifle//www.rockislandauction.com/detail/1029/2021/winchester-model-1892-rifle

Thanks so much

Does the bottom line of the tang stamp end in “& FGN”? Yes

Is the barrel address on the top or left side of the barrel? Left Side

For your notes – Someone has exchanged the buttstock for a much nicer piece of wood. I think the fore end is the same, but has been waxed up and looks better than the listing. Actually, the RI pics make the gun look much worse than it really is. The blue is pushing 90% with exception to the spot on the left side of the receiver.

Happy New Year, my friend.
