Is anyone continuing the research on the early 1886’s.  Came across a 36″ barreled one.  Sent email to Cody for search request.  John Madl’s info is at least 20 years old when it comes to how many 36″ barreled rifles where made.

Chuck,

The odds are very high that the rifle you found is one of them previously documented by John. Between John Hawke and John Madl’s research in the factory ledgers (for all of the Model 1886s that can be lettered), I am of the belief that they found all of the 36-inch barreled rifles.
