Big Larry said Thanks Kevin. That stock is a “B” stock, and may be original to that rifle. I have located another reworked M2, but it is not at the sellers place. He took it to a Texas gun show. If it does not sell, I may buy it. Pricey, but refurbished by the armory, and is minty. If it sells at the gun show, I may bid on the one you sent the link on. Thank you very much. Big Larry
Gosh, Larry, shocked you’d want it! Esp after just buying that BEAUTIFUL M1 with the Targetspot. The B stock was probably put on there when it was converted to M11, but that’s not how it was built as a M1; that’s what’s “tragic”–the beautiful NRA stock replaced by this monstrosity! Am I wrong?
Better read up on the M1922 series. The 1922 M1 service rifles were in a “B” stock, while those made up for the NRA were in NRA stocks. Usually when converted to M2, they changed out the “B” stock for a M2 stock. I doubt new NRA stocks were ever used in the rebuilding process. So, the stock on that rifle may well be original. BTW, they also used that ugly stock on some NBA Sporters. Rare indeed. Big Larry

You are welcome, Big Larry. I had not noticed the stock repair.
Back to the drawing board. There are 3 for sale on the Net, but all have problems. I have to wait until Gulfbreeze comes back from a gun show to view theirs. That is, if it doesn’t sell there. Thanks again. Big Larry

Went back and looked that rifle over real close. It has a cracked stock repair, so I am out of contention for this rifle. Many thanks for bringing it to my attention. Still looking. Big Larry
Larry, do you mean that slanting mark on the left side across the finger grooves? What’s more obvious than that is all the rust where the brl screws into the rcvr. Don’t quite see how that could happen on a Parkerized finish, unless it’s been re-Parked. Can’t find the “RA” on the stock in Brophy or Campbell, but isn’t it a rebuild mark? Raritan Arsenal?

No, there is a brass screw going through the wrist. You have to look for it, but when you do see it, it will stand out. Probably Raritan. It’s an old rifle that has been reworked. I think most of the cartouche is boned off. I wrote the auction house and never got an answer. Going to pass. Big Larry
