VERY Nice!  Great addition to the WACA Winchester Military Arms forum!  I used to post extensively on the CMP forum but eventually migrated here.

The DCM/CMP was/is a great place to obtain true USGI military surplus Winchester trainers and weapons.  I too have a neat CMP 52D but mine came with the ugly “U. S.” marking.  I also have a 52C with the “U.S. Property” marking.  The CMP paperwork is a great resource for determining originality, if we had that kind of military lineage documentation for some of the lever action rifles with odd markings there would be MUCH less discussion/debate in the other forums. 🙂

Here is my 1964 52D (laying on some ugly white carpet).  Yours appears to be a 1965 52D.
