I recently acquired this rifle and I’m looking for information. 

1. seems to be made in first series of production 

2. mechanically sound

3. Butt sock is in rough condition. 

Is this a gun that may have some historical interest?

I suspect that you are inquiring about a Winchester Model “1894”. 

What is “38 CWT” ?

Can you provide pictures of the gun?
