I have a RCBS case trimmer and cannot find info on a #1 holder for 25-20 Win cases.

I believe it is a RCBS #1, but if it is as thick as the ones I have the case will not drop down far enough to be in line with the pilot.

Thanks

Ed,  My response likely will not satisfy you, but here it is.  I use a Forster trimmer.  It has collets (4, I think) with steps.  Pick the one that barely clears the rim, then screwing it in to the holder pinches the collet down to hold the brass. The cutter is equipped with caliber specific pilots to maintain alignment of the cutter with the brass.  The pilots require doing so before sizing unless they are special for things like outside reaming of the neck, etc.  Tim

I’m assuming you have checked your shell holder for burrs and tumbling media, I’ve found both with that type die. My Lee trimmer uses a die that tightens on the case rim.

RCBS does not support this type of trimmer any more.  There is only one for sale on ebay but I am not sure it will work.

When the lever is pushed to extend the shell holder their isn’t enough room to slide the brass down far enough to line up with the pilot  I am considering purchasing a Forster, they appear to be a quality trimmer.

I looked for a trim die for the 25-20, no one makes one!

Lee Precision, Inc. – Case Length Gauge & Shell Holder

I’ve been using the Lee system for quite some time. This tool, a cutter and a Zip Trim (or a cordless drill) does the job for me.

Midwayusa.com has the 25-20 shell holder (assuming it would be the same as for the 32-20.  The shell holder is a #1).  But, if you have the RCBS trimmer, the collet you need is a #2 with a #25 pilot.
