Bill,
I strongly would not recommend using Unique powder in that cartridge. Instead, load it with 24 grains of 4198.

I use 22 or 23 grains of 5744 in my 40-65. With a heavier bullet you would use less powder.

I strongly agree with Bert. Unique has a fast burn rate. You are much better off with a medium-speed burn rate powder such as IMR 4198 or (my favourite) 5744.

It’s quite possible to work up safely from 8 grains of Unique with a half sheet of toilet paper as a spacer. I’m a big fan of 5744 for similar cartridges but it’s so dirty and stubborn to clean I’m beginning to see the light and dabbling with Bert’s favorite, 4198.
