Beautiful guns. I love that you’re out whipping that NRA commem around and giving it the business! I have the musket version….really for no reason at all but I really liked it when I saw it and it was literally in NIB condition, amazing for 50+ years old.

I saw the matching set of NRA Centennial Models for sale at Cabelas in Lexington KY several years ago. That Musket a unique rifle! Mine was unfired when I got it, but it’s earned its keep since the day I got it!

But I’m thinking I need to focus on making meat with my Carbine, have never even taken it hunting. I’ve got a 336 Marlin that I’ve taken several deer with, now I hardly ever touch it.

Welcome!  I’m a big .33 WCF fan – have been for over 60 years.  And yes, I have a few.

Not to steal a new members thunder But welcome to the asylum! And in IMHO the 33 is the best. Well the 45-90 has a HUGE place in my heart as well. Just ask Steve! My advise is get one, you won’t regret it. 86’s in that caliber are still generally affordable and ammo can be found with little effort. It may be older but im shooting some stuff from the 50″s with no problem. It is also easy to reload. Here is a pic of one of my fav’s

Now that’s a nice Model 1886 rifle!

How about a thread about it?

Yes it is, I’d like to see and hear more also!

Hey M64lvr. Good buck. Thanks for the kudos on my 86. It is a real gem to me. I am an addict to 86’s. Not sure this gun deserves an entire thread, but I feel I have been invited to “the Inner Sanctum” now. And for Steve’s benefit and approval I also like the 32 special. But 71’s have a place in my heart also. In fact let one rip tonight to quite down the neighbors with there little peashooter! Laugh

Yes, my 348 certainly rattles the tin at my local club. Almost as well as a short barreled 45-70 with a muzzle brake. My 71 will be for sale at Cody.
