OfflineThis is something I wouldn’t normally miss as I am usually acquiring vintage rifles and I am always very interested in what the bore looks like. However, this brief video is something I will remember. There are lots of versions of this how a shooter could end with quite the disaster. A very easily averted disaster.
I read some of the comments and was struck by the example where a fellow bought a shotgun from a widow and it blew up when he shot it. The clue in this story was, “widow.” Her deceased husband had hidden his cash in his shotgun barrels. Using rolled up $100 bills – a lot of cash could be stashed!
I will pass this along to fellow shooters. I do know some shooters who would likely not even think about looking down a new gun bore before firing it.

OfflineGood point! I bought a new R-word in 17HMR years ago that had some stubborn heavy goo in its tiny bore. It took several passes with a brush and more than a few patches to get it out. That could have been ugly.
