A model 42, Chesapeake and grouse|Winchester Hunting, Shooting & Reloading|Forum|Winchester Collector

I should of had a full limit of 5 today but missed my last 2 birds. The dog did great as always, found a bird I broke a wing on about 40 yards from where it went down. He works a wonderful zig zag pattern from side to side putting up birds he tends to push in front of me. In total this morning we put up 9 grouse and 3 Woodcock. Gave the Woodcock a free pass, I don’t much care for the flavor. The model 42 performed flawlessly as expected. (except for the operator) A great morning in the woods!
