OfflineCheers everyone! I have started getting everything together to load for my 33 Win 1886. It’s an old family rifle, possibly even bought new but I’m not to sure. I’ve been lucky to find several boxes of the old Hornady flat points, and intend to use IMR3031 as it’s available near me. I have some 40-65 brass which I will have annealed and a 38-56 sizing die to use as an intermediate in the necking down process. Im hoping to use it for hunting Black Bear, and was wondering about others experience using it on bear or any other game. I’ve read the stories of Ben Lilly using it as his “Big” rifle and such but would love to hear others!

OfflineMorgan,
If you want to purchase already formed (and correctly headstamp marked) brass, contact Dave Plummer – Hard to find brass, 33 win, 401 SL, 356 win, etc. Jamison New Old Stock Inventory | Winchester Swap Meet | Forum | Winchester CollectorWinchester Collector
I have purchased 33 WCF cartridge cases from him and am very happy with them.

OfflineWell best of luck towards it, been following your other thread. Im a 33wcf fan-wanna be you might say! Lot the old wcf’s ive long held interest, but the 33wcf tops the list! Ever since way back ??, I first read about Ben Lilly, I think maybe been the roots of it. But after studying its attributes, I concluded this is the ultimate of the old wcf’s for my use! Anyways, post progress, and show some pics I hope!
Go to the Spring 2023 Magazine, read “Late Season 33” by Brad Dunbar, a really good article if you haven’t already read it!
