Cannot post pics here ever since they changed the format, and God knows, I have tried.

I just won an auction for a real nice M59 Winchester 22. As any 22 collector will tell you, these are exceedingly rare in good condition. Anyway, funds were sent off for it today and I am very happy to have found one of my Grail Guns. The last one was a beautiful M56 in 22 short. Both rifles are very rare. I hope my luck holds out for a Thumb Trigger in good shape.   Big Larry

Good luck on the thumb trigger. Great model 59 and it wasn’t an arm and a leg. Just an arm.  Jay

Excellent score on a rarer than rare variation of an already rare .22 Model 59!  Looking forward to seeing your pictures when it arrives.

For $600ish I don’t think you paid too much for a Winchester model that was only produced for 1 year (86 years ago) and then with less than a few dozen of that “target” version.  I personally have only ever seen a few factory equipped with the Lyman 42W, including yours, mine, 2 others in private collections and the one in the NRA museum.  The Winchester museum also had an example with the 42W but I don’t know where it went when the museum was closed.  Congrats!

For those that have not seen one, here is a picture of mine,  Larry’s new purchase is the same variation.

Best Regards,

Larry,

I have offered to assist you with this on more than one occasion, and you turned me down… so please stop the complaining.  The forum software works perfectly, you just need to take the time to learn it.

Bert, I have had both my Grandson and a very good friend make attempts at posting pictures and both failed. They are both computer savvy. Maybe something is wrong with my computer. I never had any problems in the past. I will make another attempt at this as I have some nice stuff to share. Thanks, Big Larry

Larry,

As I have mentioned to you in the past, I can walk you through the process very quickly via a phone call.

Thanks Bert, but I do not do well on the phone. My hearing is not up to par.

My buddy is coming over Thursday and maybe I can get this done.  Thank you very much Bert. Larry
