I have a Winchester Model 74 with Serial #30774. How can I find the production date?

Welcome to the WACA Forum!
Go to the “Resources” Tab above, use the drop-down menu and select “When was your Winchester Made”, then enter the model and serial number and you will get the year of manufacture which is 1939 in the case of your rifle.
Most of these dates are based on the original Winchester polishing records (the date the serial number was applied) which are housed at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West (Cody Firearms Museum) and other reliable sources or research.
