The early 67 caliber roll-marking was:
Model 67 – .22 Short
Long and Long Rifle
It is located on two lines and the lower line is sometimes obscured by the stock so it looks like “Model 67 – .22 Short” period.
There is another slight possibility, there is also a smooth bore version that was marked “Model 67 .22” on the upper line and “For Shot Only” on the second line. Some people have misread this to be “For Short Only”. If that is the case you have hit the jackpot because they are worth MUCH more than a standard Model 67.
