I like my 63 carbine, fun little plinker. There’s a thread around here about it and a very unlucky fly.

I have six model 63s. Two are carbines and two are deluxe. One has a low serial number 266. Two are new in the box.
I agree with Larry, they are a bit heavy. I have a grooved receiver that I shoot all the time with no problems, however I like shooting the model 61 much better.

Very nice carbines, Gerald! Both very good condition. I can’t recall seeing a deluxe model, certainly not one as nice as yours. Did you see my straight stock thread? It’s a later gun but appears to be nearly new.

Mike, Yes I did and that is the only one I’ve seen in 50 years collecting. It’s a awesome rifle. It would have been special ordered. My deluxes have assembly numbers on the butt plate, stock and tang. Your stock may be stamped on the butt on the wood.
It sure would look good setting next to my other 63s. lol

Had the Model 63 to the range today.Probably fired over 250 rounds through the rifle.Fun rifle to shoot.Had three fired shells catch and jam in the ejection port upon firing. One Super-X,one Blaser and one Federal. The rifle did not like Imperial cartridges at all.
Always had good results with Imperial before, but the ones we had today, caused trouble in the Winchester Model 63,Browning SA and a Browning Trombone we were shooting.Perhaps a bad lot?

28 gauge-
Not familiar with Imperial ammo, is it standard or high velocity? I understand the 63 does better with high velocity and my little carbine is no exception. Which ammo grouped best? I haven’t found anything that works especially well in my carbine yet but I haven’t shot it much lately.
