I bought a 62 sight unseen and it’s serial number is way out side any recorded. 851xxx is the serial, also its missing the winchester markings on top of the tang. The barrel has the correct winchester 62 markings. Has someone screwed a 62 barrel into a Rossi or Taurus? Its been reblued so I can’t tell.

Yes; please do, and if you don’t mind providing the complete serial number it would be appreciated. We’ve documented about a dozen of the 62/62As so far with serial numbers above 849,000.
Is it a 62 or a 62A?
Is there a “B” at the end of the serial number?
Is it chambered for “S L OR LR” or is it a 22 Short only?
