Safety on the rifle is hard to push from side to side- needs work-i.e. probably replacement of detent and detent spring. In order to remove the safety do you have to remove the stock?

Hello John,

This is cheap and a BIG help for any and all question relating to disassembly.  You can get the Ebook option for $17.00 and download it. https://homesteadparts.com/shop/a-disassembly-manual-for-the-winchester-61-pump-22-rifle-p-9.html?cPath=98

trying to get the stock off the gun- stock bolt is frozen- have been using kroil to try and get bolt unfrozen- no success so far.

Do you have to take the stock off in order to replace the safety?
