Yes, it is the same band as the Model 57.
Good luck in your search.

Big Larry,
I appreciate your opinion. The gun was also missing the receiver sight which I found on ebay. It is somewhat different in that it has an adjusting knob instead of a lever and is marked 55w and also r55w. I assume it was probably sold by Lyman as opposed to being an original Winchester installed sight. The gun is pretty decent except for the missing items. That is why I am hesitant spending another $240 on it. Either way it is still a pretty cool gun.

Bob, I think the sight you purchased is for a Remington. I believe they have the round knob. Mine is marked 55W, but has the lever. You didn’t note the condition of the rifle overall. I just traded one of mine, a 98%er, not the one in the picture, but actually a point better, with no sling, for a vintage High Standard Military, Supermatic, Trophy, in mint cond. I did the trade for a friend. Only a little over 6,000 of these rifles were made, and I can tell you, they are very accurate. Big Larry
Thanks Larry,
I saw a similar sight on a 60A target on Guns International. Looks like it is missing the aperture. I will know if it fits for sure when it shows up. As far as condition, the bore is excellent and blueing is strong but it has some small rust pitting. I have not had a chance to clean it to see how much can be removed. The stock is in good shape except for a 1-2″ area where something rubbed on it. I am no expert but I would guess a 60 percent gun. Without the pitting and gouge in the stock it would probably be 80 percent plus. I will try to post pictures in a few weeks when it comes back from the gunsmith. I figured I couldn’t go to wrong for a $120 from Cabelas.
