Does anyone know if the Model 47 ever came from the factory with “Target” sights? Thank you for reading!

A few Model 47s were equipped with Winchester’s Model 80 receiver-mounted peep and Model 97 hooded front sights. Those are probably referred to as “Target” rifles, though I doubt Winchester marketed them as such.

I have 3 of these nice rifles in my collection. Two have the standard 32-B rear sight with the 75C front, and one has the 80-A rear, with the hooded front sight. The rear sight notch has a Winchester filler in it. All have chromed bolts and trigger guards. IMHO, this is one of the best single shots Winchester ever made. Great for kids as it has an automatic safety, and is as accurate as a M69-A as it also has the speedlock bolt. I have also heard that maybe a few had grooved receivers for scopes.   Big Larry

If you have the chance to buy one, get it. These rifles are amazingly accurate and fun to shoot. Prices run from $200 to over $400. Big Larry
