Hi, All:
This is my first post. I’v been rambling through This Winchester .22 Rim Fire section of the Forum, and thought I would ask questions about an old .22 Mod. 63 Winchester rifle that i’v had for many moons. I bought it because I had never had a Winchester semi auto rifle. When I bought it, I thought it would be nice to add to my meager collection of .22 cal. rimfire Winchester rifles that had included a 52-C, a 61, a 74, and a Winchester/Browning 52 “Sporter”. Well I bought the 63 knowing that it had a few deep rust marks in the bluing on the right front of the bbl. With all these years gone past, I am still agonizing over whether to repair the rust damage to the bbl. of this rifle or not. I never looked up the age of it ether, the ser. number is #66366A on the action, and the same less the A on the trigger assembly. Help on the age? Help on how collectible the mod. 63 is? Thanks.

Thanks Bert, for the information regarding my Mod. 63 rifle. I am going to try to figure out how to post pictures, and show pictures of it, and the rust spots on the bbl. Then maybe get the opinions of the experts on this forum, as to whether It would be a good idea to repair the damage, or to just let it be as is. I am at 86 years old sadly trying to get my “Ducks in a row”, so as to help my Son get rid of them when I pass on. He doesn’t intend to collect guns, like his Dad has done all of his life.
