I don’t want to bring it to the local up coming gun show with some value idea. Can anyone here help. thank you .

Hi,

Welcome to the WACA forum!

The “5-Spot” marked pre-war gallery guns will bring a significant premium over a standard 62, roughly double.  The market has gone a little soft on them recently but they are still very much sought after by collectors.

Having said that, without photos and a detailed description there is really no way for us to give you an accurate value.  Overall condition is one of the factors, as is originality in both finish and correct parts.  Gallery guns tended to be used hard and parts were often interchanged and refinished.  Sometimes this is difficult to detect without a hands-on inspection.

What area is your local gun show?  Perhaps someone will be willing to attend and view your 62 first-hand to help you with a value.

A model 62 5 Spot with the original picture box plus the 5 Spot target sold at a local auction recently for $2100.00 less buyers premium.

Gun looked to be in decent shape.  I kinda wish I had taken the time to drive to the auction and get more details, condition, etc.

That should give you an idea.

If I remember correctly, there are some fakes of the 5 spot guns around also. Are you sure it is all original?

I have attended many of the Tulsa gunshows which is the largest gun show in the US, and it consists of mostly collectors. My father and i have a table at the show and have sold several 5 spot winchester 22s. On avarage the rifle will sell for around 3000.00 in great shape or around 2200 for one in a fairly used state. I hope this helps.

Some interesting reading regarding the early stages of the 5-Spot Galleries.
