In the late 50’s and 60’s Williams made left hand safeties for a bunch of different guns – I had them for the Model 12, Browning Auto 5, Ruger Carbine, Etc.
You would have to find old Williams catalog info – or – I’ve seen a list of the available models in old Gun Digest Ads of that era – but can’t remember if the 61 was included.
Being a leftie myself I used to grab them whenever I saw them. ( cheap $5 – $10 )
Eventually they were dropped because of liability issues from accidental discharges – also Uncle Mike’s made some different ones for a while but dropped for same reason.
A good gunsmith can make you one – if you want to pay for the machining time.
