I just acquired a 52E with a serial number just over 123,000 and when I put the number into the website, it shows a build date of 1966 but that must be off as the E’s weren’t made until 1969-70.  Thinking it’s probably because there just isn’t enough info for the late built 52’s.

Don,

All of the DOM information beyond July 26, 1949 is an estimate.  The PR records end at S/N 74125 on July 26, 1949.

Might try a PM to SEEWIN, who could probably provide you with a very good estimate; he’s owned more of them than anyone I know.

Thanks to Steve, this rifle was probably built in 1970 or 71′.
