I have a Model 74 I’d dig into Winchester’s records about.
On June 7, 1941, Adolf Topperwein performed one of his exhibitions for a hardware store owed by the Kingsburys in Caruthersville, MO. At the end of the show, the Kingsburys retained the Model 74 and the tin Indian head used in the exhibition. 9 months and 3 days later, their only child and my friend, Jere, was born. Upon Jere’s passing, I inherited the rifle and the Indian head.
My question is this: is there a resource from Winchester to tie the rifle to Topperwein? The tin has been signed by Ad, but I’d like to tie the Model 74 to him as well. Serial number is 48028.
I would post pics if I had any idea how to.
