Perfect day for lighting to get a photo of my other Winchester rimfires. Top-bottom, 47 target(1949), 72A(1949), 61(1937), 62A(1940),1890(1903).

Thanks Darrin. This photo doesn’t do the 1890 justice. The lighting and small oil residue spots weren’t kind today to that one.

Excellent specimens, Rick. You don’t give yourself enough credit for your photography, either.  The soft outdoor light through the window illuminates the outlines of the rifles without blowing out their front facades. I can see every small detail of the Walnut and steel seams and the steel is lit well enough to see the quality of the blue finishes. Not easy to do.

Winchester lever action centerfires may be the big dogs of the collecting World but the little twenty-two rimfire repeaters do something for me the rest can’t:  Whenever I pick up a nice Model 62 (for example), for just a moment I’m a kid again. The moment doesn’t last but I’ll take it.  My Winchester rimfires will be the last to go.

Your Model 90 isn’t shabby either..

Thank you. I have more rimfire Winchesters now than Center fire. An unexpected progression but very happy taking this collecting route!

Rick, you really need a nice M1906 to go with your super M1890. A bit harder to find. Nice rifles BTW.   Big Larry

Very hard to find high condition M1906’s. Here’s a rare stainless steel rifle I got at an  auction. Big LarryStainless-M1906-2.jpgImage Enlarger

Stainless!! Beauty Big Larry.

Also as you stated, hard to find a 1906 in good condition and suggesting adding one to my collection which I appreciate, I just finalized the deal on a model 1906. $625 U.S

Here’s a few pics. Made in 1909.
