I am looking for instruction on how to disassemble a pre model A 52 bolt as I will be replacing the bolt handle. I have looked on utube and found a 52A instruction on disassembly but the firing pin is different than mine. Any ideas? Video would be best but a step by step instruction will do to.
Thanks
Ken
Ken, it’s not a simple operation–I have a set of instructions I found somewhere on the web, which describes how to make the special tools needed for the job, but thank God I’ve never had to use them. It’s possible your bolt disassembles like the “A” you found on YT. Blue Ridge Parson or Seewin can tell you whether that video can also be used with your bolt.

Thanks BRP I know I will figure it out just waiting for my punches to come from ebay. Hoping someone has some dos and don’ts before I start on it.
Finding out if there’s any critical diff between disassembly of your Slowlock bolt vs the one in the video would be a step in the right direction. If there isn’t, follow the video.
Here is a link to a procedure I wrote in Rimfire Central about 15 years ago. Yes, there is a difference between disassembly of the “pre B” model bolts and the later versions. The pre B model bolts had a half moon shaped breach bolt retainer that has to be removed during the procedure by driving out the small retaining pin(.100″ dia x .430″ long) in bolt handle.

There is lots of good info on the Rimfire Central (52 subforum) for the 52 shooter/collector.
