A nice enough M75 caught my eye today. On closer examination the rifle had a mismatched bolt, multiple rack numbers and a parkerized finish. Some of the lettering was almost polished off so I had to walk on this $800 gun. Seemed to be a nice enough shooter but it was priced as a collectible. Sights seemed to be in good condition and I didn’t ask to see the included magazine.
You made a wise decision. $800 is way overpriced for an arsenal overhauled 75. There are a lot out there in that condition in the $400-$500 range (but they have been creeping up in price).

I think so too. There was something about this gun that pulled on me, guess I better get my 75 together and take it out to play.

There sure is not any shortage of M75’s both civilian and military. Prices run all over the board. 99% of all the military marked rifles have been rebuilt and parkerized. The trick is to find one with its original finish. Blue. Lyman 57-E and the M93-B shark fin sight. These are very scarce as most were reworked. Big Larry

Quite honestly I have a much better 75 in my safe. As soon as JWA and I get together on some sights for it I’ll get it put together and we’ll see just how good a rifle shot I am…or ain’t! Don’t worry, I was a comp shooter for more than a few years so I’ve been humbled a time or two over the years, lol.

It won’t be long now. I will finally be back home in another week and will get a set in the mail to you. I appreciate your patience.

No worries, safe travels! I’ve got other projects I need to work on, this one’s mostly for fun. Honestly don’t know when I’ll get back to that 75 but it seems to be the project I’m most excited about at the moment. Or maybe it’s that Model 12. Pad I put on it last week was blemished so need to get another one started this way from Brownells. I was so anxious to shoot it that I installed it anyway so I can’t return it. I’ll be on the road a bit myself over the next several days.
