OfflineI can certainly understand why you’re so happy! Good job gathering all the pieces and picking a gunsmith to put everything together in a very pleasing manner. Congratulations, well played!

Ben,
I look forward to seeing the completed rifle. Â With that gorgeous stock, it should be a showstopper. Â You were very fortunate to find a Lyman 48T sight so quickly. Â When I needed one a few years back to complete a Round Top 52 Pre-A that was missing its original 48T, it took more than a year, and required I buy a rifle just to “harvest” the sight. Â They are quite hard to find. Â Here are my “Round Top Twins” with sequential serial numbers, wearing their factory correct Lyman 48T sights.Â
All the best—

Hey BRP. My round top serial number is real close to yours. # 22164. These are scarce enough but mine as a heavy Nickel Steel bbl. I’ve been told the NS bbls. are ever scarcer than the stainless steel type. I have a real nice Lyman 5A for it. Big Larry

OfflineI would be interested in hearing opinions regarding scope selection for this rifle? I’ve got a Winchester A5 with twisted loop reticle… and several Unertl & Lyman target scopes… I don’t plan to shoot it much, just trying to get the right “look” as it will be displayed in my cave. Â

OfflineIf it were mine I would put a vintage Unertl or Fecker scope on it, they both put the A5 to shame.
Best Regards,
