Hello everyone! I am trying to clear some room in the safe and am considering selling my Winchester 77. I’m ashamed to say I got it a year or two ago and haven’t even shot it! I’d call condition probably around 90%…. What is a fair asking price for these? Thanks in advance!

Hi Brian,
The Winchester Model 77 is one of the few remaining undervalued pre-64 Winchester 22’s. The 7rd detachable magazine version in 90% has been selling in the $175-$275 range and the tube fed version in the same condition has been selling in the $250-$350 range.
Without pictures, serial number range and the exact model version you have that is about as close as I can estimate. They were all grooved for a tip-off scope but the later versions have the bolt hold-open feature which is more desirable and, the earlier versions had a weaker slide which was prone to breakage and less desirable, hope that helps.

We have two of these Model 77 22 Rifles. Mine is the detachable magazine fed version without the bolt hold-open, while my brother’s, also a detachable magazine has the bolt hold-open. Mine is in very good condition but I paid more than $275.00 for it.
I really like mine, but I wish it had the bolt hold-open. There was a barrel with the hold-open and slide listed on eBay and I considered swapping out the parts but decided to leave it as is.
