I have a Winchester model 77 with serial #1001. From what I’ve read this puts it built in 1954 and the 1st rifle built is that correct?

Hello Brad,
Serial number 1001 was the first Model 77 rifle manufactured and received in the warehouse… on May 13th, 1955.

I’m trying to figure out how to post the pictures. Any idea of its worth?
I’ve had 4 kids pass hunter safety with it. 🙂
