Looking for some info and price estimate on another gun from my mother in law’s late husband’s collection.  For those of you who saw my Winder Musket post, this one did not fall victim to the “safe” rust.  I believe this is a Model 75 Target?

This thing shoots great and is in great condition.  Dead on at 100 yards once again without touching anything. It does have multiple scope mount holes.  Are any of them factory??  Links to some pics are below (because I still can’t get them to embed).  If there are questions that would help value, please let me know.

<a href="IMG_0927“>Serial Number

<a href="IMG_0925“>Rear Sight

<a href="IMG_0929“>Scope Mount Holes

Thanks

Shane

Shane,

Your Model 75 target is in fairly nice condition, but it has two additional non-factory holes drilled and tapped on the top of the barrel. They came from the factory with four such holes; your rifle has six.

The rear sight is a Redfield #75, which was one of the factory options available for your rifle. I cannot see enough detail to comment on the front sight.

One of the most common Win. 22’s. A nice one with no extra holes $600-$800. The extra holes put it in the $400 price range. Condition also plays a part in valuation. Most are very accurate, but not in the M52 class. Prop

Proper magazines are also a valuation factor. Considering a proper magazine is worth near $75 alone.

There are variations of M75’s. Mostly sights. Some are worth more than others.

Put a 20X scope on that rifle and see how accurate they can be.         Big Larry

It has a magazine and it works properly.  I assume its factory.

I do have a vintage Lyman  Super Targetspot 20x scope that might be fun to throw on it.   I’ll have to source some mounts and see what it will do!

He makes great bases. Got a pair for my M1922M1 Springfield and you cannot tell his bases from originals.  Big Larry

I bought some scope end caps from him. Great products.
