Model 72A bolt/safety issue|Winchester .22 Rim Fire|Forum|Winchester Collector

I need to work on my nomenclature, but the problem is when I push the bolt in and lock it, I can not move the safety slide rearward out of fire into safe position.

I purchased a “98% condition” M72 as advertised by Lock, Stock, and Barrel Auction house and when I received it I could barely get the bolt out and then when I put it in it got stuck and I had to take the bolt apart to relieve pressure on components.

I discovered the firing pin stop pin was broken and must have been restricting bolt travel.  

I purchased a new pin, reassembled the bolt and now I it moves back and forth smoothly but the safety does not slide backwards.  Any thoughts?
