What was the aperture size supplied from Winchester?
For which sight, the 80A or 80B?
The 80A was supplied as standard on the 69A sporting rifle, catalog number G6901R, and had an aperture of .080″.
The 80B was supplied as standard on the 69A Target rifle, catalog number G6940R, and had an aperture of .040″ but could be ordered with an aperture of .052″ or .0225″.
Hope that helps.

Perfect, just info I was looking for.
Glad that helped because after I responded I realized you might have been asking about the Lyman 57E/EW on the 69A Match rifles or the Lyman 57EW/RS on the 69A Junior Target Shooter’s Special which came with a variety of apertures.

Hi Johnny,
Sorry for the delay, I just noticed your post. The Model 69 rear peep sight is a Winchester 96B and the elevation wheel is threaded into the sheetmetal body of the sight and then staked in place. If your elevation wheel turns but does not raise the sight it is likely that the threads are stripped on the stamped sight body or the elevation wheel stud.
So, either the main body and/or the wheel would need to be replaced (probably both). Since that comprises the bulk of the sight and individual parts are difficult to find your best bet is to just purchase a complete used replacement sight. Here is one currently on eBay to give you an idea of cost.
