As a WACA Guest you will not be able to upload pictures. If one of the members here will upload them on your behalf that would help us identify the markings for you. I doubt the “Marine Guard” suggestion as that was not how any of the Marine owned rifles were marked but it is certainly some special designation for your 67A. Hopefully we will be able to shed some light upon it for you.
Thanks for sharing!

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the pictures! That is certainly an odd one, I have never seen a Winchester 67 stamped in that location.
I agree with your assumption that there are probably at least 001-007 stamped on something else out there somewhere….

Thanks James, I hadn’t thought of that, nor has any one else suggested that. Being a 3 digit serial # possibility (MG008) ‘I’m not sure that there would be a possibility of that many master gunner’s, but I was never in the service. I’ts a thought James, Thanks, Tony
You’re very welcome. The Army and Marines would have had them. Not that it means any correlation with your rifle, though.
