Greetings,
I was looking at a Model 61. It has the longer post war foreend. The action locked up tight and no problems cycling or firing.
Foreend and action bar were tight when the action is locked from a front to back motion perspective. But the foreend seems to “wiggle” some with a side to side twisting motion. Wood and screws are tightly attached to the metal slide underneath. I didn’t have an opportunity to remove the foreend but seemingly no grooving or wear of the underlying magazine tube.
I own a Model 1890 and this side to side “wiggle” is not present with it.
I don’t know how better to describe what I am asking so please bear with me.
Can someone who has more experience with Model 61 guns please comment. Is it common to have such play in the Model 61 forend?
Thanks as always,
Mike
