 Hi Guys,

I have a friend that has a model 57 but no bolt for the rifle.  I was doing some investigating last night and read that the model 69 bolt (not the 69A) can be used in its place.  Does this scenario work?  Big Larry, you seem to the 22 guru.  Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Manuel

I would defer to JWA with that question. I have both but they are buried in the safe.  Big Larry

Hi Manuel,

I previously answered this same question regarding the 56/57 bolt a few weeks ago.  Here is a link to the discussion (just click on the hyperlink);

https://winchestercollector.org/forum/winchester-research-survey-discussion/winchester-model-5657-research-survey/page-5/

What is the serial number, caliber (.22 short or LR) and vintage of the rifle?  I would love to add it to the survey.

Let me know if you have any additional questions and I will be happy to help.

Regards,

Hey JWA!

Thanks for the link.  I will relay my findings to my buddy and get the serial number and such for your research survey.

Thanks again!
