Thanks, Vince. Looked at it pretty hard and a few things turned me off; barrel seems to have been replaced and the finish on the receiver looks pretty rough. Price looks good but I don’t need another shooter. Thought pretty seriously about having it transferred to the Ft Worth Cabela’s for a closer look but decided against it.

Rather poor condition. Someone didn’t take care of it and it was an expensive rifle in its day. Sights are worth near $300, but as a former M52 collector, I would not touch this one with a 10′ pole.   Big Larry

If I wanted a rifle to restore and shoot I’d be interested in this gun. As it is I have another rifle that fills that niche quite well and is a much more attractive rifle in better condition for less money. Still thinking it may be worth the money to transfer it down here for a closer look but I have too many projects already. It’s quite possible this rifle’s parts may be worth more than the gun but I don’t think I see $800 worth of parts there…but I could be wrong.
