Hello. I’ve been offered an “06” “expert” pump or slide action, chambered in .22 short, long & long rifle. I’ll have photos later. Both pieces of wood (pump handle & butt stock) are gum wood. Serial # is 553,0XX. I guess that’s pretty late. The slide wood is square cut at each and & is grooved. Could that be correct or a replacement? Thanks!

No, all of the 1906 Experts had a Schnabel style forend/pump handle.  The grooved forend would be a replacement.

Primarily, we do not use XXX’s here. We are a very friendly Forum.

JWA is correct as usual, and finding an original pump handle may prove to be a significant task.

I have a blued Expert # 541602B in my collection, shipped 1-31-1919. It’s about an 80% rifle with a good bore.

I feel your pain on your rifle. M1906’s are extremely hard to find with all their original parts or clean bore. Very pricey too. Big Larry
