This is an obvious rust bucket, but I have a question regarding the front tube magazine ring with sling stud. original?

Doubtful. I have never seen a model 1890 or 1906 with a sling eye mounted in that location before today.

I found swivel eye in July 1942 catalog, page 71, figure 16 “Forearm tip swivel eye complete for riveting to… magazine bands….
Considering the difficulty in riveting to band, wouldn’t it be easier as a factory installation when ordering the rifle?
