Took my Grandson out shooting yesterday. Had a 520 rd. box of Federals to shoot. He shot his M69-A with the ringed and bulged bbl. and I shot my M06. The 06 is about a 95% rifle with a perfect bore. PR’d at 10-1928. A late one made with a M90 receiver. I see now why they are for kids originally. Stock is too short for my long arms. Anyway, at 50 yards offhand, we were shooting at refilled Aquafina water bottles. Yes, we picked up the trash. My Grandson outshot me for the first time. I just could not get into that M06. Too short. I hit my share, but would have done much better had I used one of my M69-A’s or my favorite M47. Anyway, we had fun, picked up the trash and headed to Papa Johns for a big pizza. Big Larry
Sounds like a great day at the range!
Those days with grandkids are extra special.

JWA, my Grandson is now 51 years old. He has been with guns all his life. His Dad was the Agent in Charge of Air Ops, El Centro on the Border Patrol. His Uncle, a 30 year San Diego Police Veteran, family friend with the San Diego Sheriffs Office for 10 years, Nephew on the Sheriffs office up in Northern Utah, two Great Grandfathers from the USMC, and me, a one time San Diego Sheriff Reserve and too, a United States Marine. You might say, shooting is in his blood. He is a good man. Stands up for what he believes in, deeply religious, and “he won’t back down”, to quote Tom Petty. I am very proud when he calls me Grandpa.
