Hello,
I have 62A .22 but the wood is fancy/figured and there aren’t any grooves in the fore-stock ? After much internet research I can’t find anything that looks like it. Did Winchester ever produce a special edition like this or is it probably custom?
The serial # dates it to 1951 and my Dad bought it unfired from an estate back in the 80’s.Thoughts and help are welcome.
I can’t seem to download the pics.

Winchester did not produce a “special edition” 62A like you describe. Special wood upgrades were available via special order but the fore-stock would have been grooved or checkered, even with the special wood.
My guess is that your rifle is a customized one of a kind with the fancy wood added after it left the factory. As Erin mentioned, pictures would really help us determine what you have.
