The trigger is loose and floppy on my model 74 any suggestions

It may be missing the trigger spring or the spring may have lost its omph being probably about my age.

Over at the Winchester forum at Rimfrecentral there was a fix using a rubber spring!

It would pay to either ask or check past thoughts on the matter.

The trigger system is pretty simple with a light cloths type spring giving the pre-tension.

And this is the fix using a rubber band, took me an hour of hunting to find this.

Wrapping some tape around the bar that lifts up the sear can make the trigger feel better too.
