Just returned from town with a new to me 1955 model 63. Beautiful finish with just some marks from gun rack, 2 on the bluing 1on the furniture. Pictures tomorrow. The funny thing is, I was just talking (and posting) to my neighbor about his 63. Today as I was leaving the local VA center, I turned right instead of right, by the time I thought where the hell am I going , I decided to go a block further to a small gun shop. Never found what I like there but what the heck. Walked in and saw the 63. $485 lighter I left. I picked up flowers on the way home.

Awesome!  Sounds like you got it for a good price.

Does it have a grooved receiver?

Unfortunately no. I’ve always heard that very few had grooved receivers, about the time they switched to plastic end caps on forearm.

Your a lucky man if flowers workSmile Funny my list never seems to shrink just seems it gets longer and the rifles have gotten more expensive.

Congratulations on the 63, mine is a “W” marked  1940. look forward to the Pictures.

Holy cow, that is a nice example for $485.  You did VERY well -congrats!

They are fun rifles to shoot and I am sure you will get hooked on it.

Great looking 63. Now you just need a pre-war example, and a carbine, and a grooved receiver……….. it never ends. You did very well on the price. Why don’t I stumble on those deals? Thanks for posting pics.

WOWSY!  She looks fantastic and from my favorite timeframe, the 50’s!  I hope to find one as nice to add to the collection someday as well.  Oh and on flowers, when do they not work with the Wifey?!
