I have a unfired  Winchester 61 Hammerless made in 1962 with a gold inlay on the stock of the Winchester Logo.

Its My first pump rifle ever and am curious if was a special order option from factory ?

Its not embossed and looks great .

Thank you for your time and information .

Doug,

We really need to see a clear picture(s) of it. I have serious doubt about it being a factory original special order feature.

Hello Doug,

I have catalogued just over 3,400 Model 61 rifles in a research survey which I am working on and have not seen another example that is similar to your description.  We definitely need to see some photos.  What is the serial number of the gun so I can add it into my work?
